Wedding card box!!!

So, my co-worker is getting married on Sunday and I saw this wedding card box on Pinterest and told her I was going to make it for her.

What do you think?  I bought 4 black frames, and I was VERY crafty by using the boxes that the frames come with to create the box first.  The corners that hold the frames were so perfect in making corners to hold the lid.  Here is what it looks like on the inside.

The lid was made from scrapbook paper glued onto those 12X12 cardboard inserts that you get when you buy LOTS of paper.  Trust me, I have a TON of them.  The bottom one was just a plain one.   Here is the box closed and a view from the top.

 Here is a view of the other 2 sides of the box.  They really took some CUTE engagement photos that were perfect to slide into the frames.  I was a hot glue mad machine!!!

Ladybug invitations with matching handmade envelopes!!!

My co-worker, Naomi's daughter is celebrating her 3rd birthday, and she wanted these invitations she found on Etsy, so I said I could make something like them.

What do you think?  Pretty close, eh?  Here is it opened...

Here is what 25 invitations and handmade envelopes look like.  Yes, I cut and folded each envelope myself because she wanted matching envelopes. I used the Simply Scoring tool, started with an 7-7/8" square and using the Diagonal Score tool, I scored at 3-1/8" and 4-1/8" on opposite sides of the envelope.

 My friend Erica always told me to package my cards, (only because I didn't package her cards so nicely, "Sorry Erica, you were one of my first customers!") so I have taken her advice to heart each time I have some cards to give.  I had some leftover paper from the invitations and some nice corrugated paper I had "saved for something."  I decided it was saved to make the packaging for Naomi's cards.

A Pop up Gift Card Holder!!! TWO VERSIONS!!!

I was inspired by Pop Up Gift Card Holder tutorials at Splitcoast Stampers and Dawn Griffin's blog

Here's my version of the Splitcoast Stampers tutorial:

This card is a pop up gift card holder.  You will need a card base of 4-1/4" X 5-1/2" folded in half.

Take 2 pieces of DSP (Designer Series Paper) that are 4" X 5-1/2."  Score them at 1", 2",  and 3" going down the long side, so they look like this.

  Attach Sticky Strip on the 2 ends of one and one end of one and only about an inch on each side of the other end to make room for the gift card. Good tip:  Put the Sticky Strip on the side you WANT to show...lesson learned!

  Crease all the score lines you made to form "boxes".

Attach the first piece with both sides with Sticky Strip along the fold on your card base. 

Then form a box and attach the other side down with the second Sticky Strip side.

 Then attach the second piece right next to the first one and make a box going toward the center.

 Then, take the last 2 small pieces of the Sticky Strip off and attach the boxes together.  

   This will leave a space for the gift card.  You can close your card flat now.

Wellah!  As you open up the card, the gift card "pops up!"

Here's my version of  the card in Dawn Griffin's video.  I tweaked a couple of the measurements.  Start with a base of 5-1/2" X 8-1/2" folded in half.  Cut another piece 8" X 5-1/2" and score it at the following:  1-1/2", 3", 3-3/4", 4-3/4", 5-3/4" and 6-1/2"

 Then fold it DOWN on the first score lines (1-1/2", 3", 3-3/4"), then fold UP at 4-3/4" and then down at the last 2 score lines (5-3/4" and 6-1/2"), so the paper looks like this:

 Lay it back down and apply Sticky Strip on the first and last panels and use the gift card as reference to where to put the Sticky Strip in the "V"

 Adhere the two smaller Sticky Strip together to make sure the gift card is held.  Then, remove the two lines of Sticky Strip on one side and line it up on the fold line of the base card.

 Fold the card holder  part in half FLAT, remove the Sticky Strip red strips and

Close the card shut.

 And open it up and  WELLAH!!  Here's the Pop Up Gift Card holder!

Embossing Folders are the BEST!!!

So, what happens when you are OBSESSED with Embossing Folders and practically have one of each of them?  You make 16 cards using only 4 pieces of different colored cardstock!

I "cased" (=Copied and Shared) it from Connie Ann Stewart on Stampin' Connection.  She stamped different images and cut them apart, I used the Embossing Folders instead.

You take 4 pieces of 8-1/2" X 11" different colored cardstock, cut them all down to 8" X 10-1/2", then into 4 pieces, each 4" X 5-1/4."  You'll get 4 pieces of each color.

Then, you cut them into the following sizes:

• 2-3/4" X 3-3/4"
• 2-3/4" X 1-1/2" 
• 1-1/4" X 3-3/4"
• 1-1/4" X 1-1/2"

The easiest way to make these 4 pieces is to first cut it at 2-3/4" with the paper "longways":

Then, turn it on it's side and cut it at 3-3/4":

I like to cut them first, because I find it hard to cut the cardstock once it's been embossed.  This is what you will have, 4 stacks of 4 colors of 4 sized paper.

Run each color in it's own Embossing Folder

Then, arrange them in the pattern in the cards below.  Mount then onto a Whisper White card base of 4-1/4" X 5-1/2" folded in half.

What do you think? Now all I need to do is to decide what the caption will be for all 16 cards!  Birthday, Thank You, For You, etc.  The possibilities are endless...I have 16 of them!!!
